Coritani Tribe of the Celtic Race

This area was occupied by the Coritani Tribe from around 200 BC, but apart from a theory that the village name Laceby comes from the old Celtic language, there is no other evidence that shows such early occupation. (Celtic Derivations by Professor Gooch - The "la" is a place, "ce" is a boundary. Thus "stands on a boundary")
